By definition, test automation is the use of automation tools to write and execute test cases. No manual involvement is required while running an automated test suite. (1)
It differs from manual testing where a human being is responsible for single-handedly testing the functionality of the software in the way a user would. (2)
Test automation can automate some repetitive but necessary tasks in a formalized testing process already in place, or perform additional testing that would be difficult to do manually. (3)
Testing verifies that the system meets the different requirements, including functional, performance, reliability, security, usability, so on. This verification guarantees we are building the system right. Besides, testing validates that the system being developed is what the user needs. (4)
When a company uses manual tests, and she wants to test all workflows, all fields, all negative scenarios are time and money consuming, and it isn’t easy to test for multi-lingual sites manually.
