This week’s “Lack of Salespeople” is once again becoming more common.

By definition, salespeople/salesperson is a person employed to sell goods or services.

A great storefront, wonderful products, and a fun mascot are great, but without sales, they’re merely an expense that leads to an organization’s losses.

In any organization, the sales department plays a pivotal role in the success of the business. The unique and important role of sales is to bridge the gap between the potential customer’s needs and the products/services that the organization offers that can fulfill their needs.

As much as we would like to think that we’re living in a new world a digital world, one where all sales happen online and there is no need for us to pick up the phone, but unfortunately that’s not true. A lot of sales happen online, but there are still many sales that need us to pick up the phone or have face to face meetings, where building relationships is still the key to closing the sale, especially if you’re in a services business.

Nowadays with so many channels to sell, we need someone focused on selling our products and services. This role is the stepping stone to guarantee a more customer-driven culture.
